Because human talent or abilities are not sufficient to do God's work or change the world, our "Spiritual" Lord (see John 4:24) provides many gifts to meet the many needs, opportunities, and challenges we face in a sin-dominated world. These gifts are manifested in a variety of ways through a variety of people. One does not lose control when the gifts operate. It is actually the opposite. As willing vessels we yield our body and mind to the Lordship of Christ and permit the Holy Spirit to work through us as we obey in faith.

As instruments yielded to His service, we at Evangel have an opportunity to share these "spiritual gifts" as a means of helping those in our church and community. Below are just a few examples. Please contact the church office at: 908-322-9300 for more information.

Alpha: The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening manner over eleven thought-provoking weekly sessions. Enjoy a delicious free dinner, contemporary worship, excellent teaching from a world renowned speaker, and open discussion in a small group environment. It's low key, friendly and fun. Meets on Sunday nights from 6:00 to 8:45 PM in our gymnasium and the course is offered during the spring and fall of each year. Child care for infants through 6th grade is provided free of charge.

Decorating Committee: The committee is for church beautification all year.

Drama Ministry: This ministry offers seasonal presentations. Drama, singing and opportunities for those who are musically gifted are available. Contact: Patrick Smith for more information.

Evangelism - Street Ministry: Takes the Word to the unsaved with street outreaches and other progams. Also helps prepare food and feed the needy on the streets.

Foundations Of Christian Living: Answers questions about basic Christianity. Class on Sundays at 9:30 am. Pastor Brennan strongly recommends this class for new believers who desire to grow. Contact: Pastor Harry Dietrich.

Intercessory Prayer: This ministry prays for the leadership and body of Evangel Church Tuesday mornings at 9:30, Wednesday nights at 7:00 and Friday evenings at 7:30.

Pre-Marital Counseling: Sessions for couples seeking God's will for their future and preparation for the marriage commitment. Required for those marrying at Evangel Church. Contact Pastor Kevin Brennan for details.

Support Group: "Care & Share" is a Christian 12-Step Program for adults. Group meets Thursday evenings at 7:15.

Tape Ministry: CD audio copies of Dr. Brennan and other guest speakers are available before and after each service. If you are a first-time visitor to our church and would like a copy, please go to the Information Desk and fill out a Request form.

The Vanguard: This is Evangel Church's newsletter which is published six times a year. To be placed on our mailing list, please contact the Church Office at 908-322-9300.

Visitation Teams: This ministry group visits with new families who have become a part of the Church on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.
