A: We are closely monitoring the government guidelines and making adjustments as we are able. For now, there are live in-person services outdoors under the parking lot overhang at 9am and 11am. Those services will also be streamed online and then be rebroadcast at 1pm and 5pm. For the most up to date information, please visit our website or social media platforms.
Q: What is the status of the weekly Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting?
A: Evangel is a body of believers that Prays Until Something Happens. We now have two ways to attend the Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting. We are able to host a limited number of people in the sanctuary. If you would like to attend in person, please watch your email for instructions to register and attend. For those unable to come in person, we will be uniting online for prayer.
In addition to texting in your prayer requests and praise reports to 908-325-5163. As part of our prayer service, we have an interactive prayer experience via Zoom where we pray and connect with others immediately following the prayer service. Q: Will the church office be open during this season?
A: At the recommendation of government officials and for the safety of our staff, we have instituted a work from home policy. We will be monitoring email and other forms of electronic communication, as well as phone messages as we are able. In addition, you may call the church office at 908-322-9300 to speak with the receptionist Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm.
Q: Was the merger between Evangel and Metro Park Church approved at the membership meeting?
A: Yes! We are excited to announce that the merger was passed by an overwhelming majority by the memberships of Evangel and Metro Park Church. In addition, we also voted in 39 new members and approved funds to perform some building upgrades here in Scotch Plains during this season that we cannot meet in the building. Please join us in welcoming our brothers and sisters of Metro Park Church into the Evangel Family!
Q: What is Evangel doing to protect the staff and volunteers of Evangel who are involved in online services, facility maintenance and Boxes of Hope?
A: We highly value the staff and volunteers of Evangel and we are so thankful for each and every one of you! We are taking precautions and following government recommendations regarding meeting sizes, social distancing, PPE, etc. We have also implemented a work from home policy to minimize physical interactions.
Q: Is Evangel laying off or reducing hours for staff?
A: No. The Evangel staff is doing an amazing job during these unprecedented times. While contributions have declined during this season, there are no plans to reduce pay for any of the Evangel employees.
Q: How can I do my part to support the vision of Evangel in this season?
A: The church building is closed, but the vision of Changed Lives, Changing Communities is very much open. You can help by attending our outdoor or online services and continuing to engage with the Evangel Family. You can pray for the church leaders, volunteers, staff and all who call Evangel home. You can support through giving.

A: We believe now is the time for the Church to Live on Mission and to use our time, talent and treasures to make a difference in our community. We encourage all who call Evangel home to be salt and light to those around us who are in need physically, emotionally and spiritually.
