Re-entry

Q:  When should we expect Sunday services to move indoors?

A:  We are excited to announce that Sunday services will move back indoors on Sunday, Oct 11th.  In the meantime, there are live in-person services outdoors under the parking lot overhang at 9am and 11am.  Those outdoor services are also being streamed online and then rebroadcast at 1pm and 5pm. 

 

 

Q:  Where will the indoor services be held?

A:  The services will be held in the sanctuary.  Seating will be available in the sanctuary main floor and balcony.  There will be overflow seating indoors in the Overflow Room (gym).  There will also be overflow seating outdoors under the overhang in the same space where we have been meeting since July.  All seating will be socially distanced.

 

 

Q:  What are the Sunday service times starting on Oct 11th?

A:  There will be live in-person services at 9am and 11am.  Those services will also be streamed online and then rebroadcast at 1pm and 5pm.

 

 

Q:  When will Evangel Kids’ resume in-person?

A:  In-person Evangel Kids’ church will resume starting on Oct 11th for ages 2 through 6th grade.  Initially, it will be only for the 11am service and have a limited capacity in order to provide a safe experience.  We will be working to expand the capacity and make it available during both the 9am and 11am services as soon as possible.  Stay tuned for more kids’ church details from Pastor Carrie and our awesome Evangel Kids’ Team. 

 

 

Q:  What resources do you have for kids if we are not yet ready to return to in-person services?

A:  Each week, we'll have fun and creative resources available for your kids including: a short lesson to go over as a family, application questions, print-out activity sheets, and some ideas for how to put what you just learned into action. To sign up to receive the weekly lessons, please send us an email at children@evangelchurch.com. You can also check out our Evangel Kids Facebook page (facebook.com/evangel.kids) for weekly updates.

 

 

Q:  Will there be a need to pre-register in order to attend in-person services?

A:  Due to the recent changes in government guidance, we do not anticipate the need to pre-register in order to attend in-person.

However, there will be pre-registration for Kids’ church due to the limited capacity.  Stay tuned for more details on how to register your child(ren).

 

 

Q:  What do I need to know about coming on to the property and entering/exiting the church building starting on October 11th?

A:  We are carefully working to provide the best and safest experience possible for all.  Please stay tuned as we will be providing additional safety and logistic details the week of October 4th.

 

 

Q:  What is the status of the building upgrades?

A:  The upgrades are well under way and we can’t wait for you to see them!  Some of the upgrades include a newly designed children's space, widening of the downstairs hallway for better people flow, and 100% renovation of the upstairs and downstairs restrooms to include all touch-free fixtures.

 

 

Q:  What are my options for attending service if I am not yet ready to meet indoors?

A:  You may come and worship with us in the outdoor overflow space or online.

 

 

Q:  When will other ministries outside of our services begin meeting in-person?

A:  Some groups are already meeting online and/or in-person.  As we move further into the Fall season we are optimistic that more groups/ministries will be able to meet both online and in-person.  

 

 

Q:  I have more questions.  How can I find out more?

Services

Q: What is the status of the weekly Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting?

A: Evangel is a body of believers that Prays Until Something Happens.  We now have two ways to attend the Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting.  We are able to host a limited number of people in the sanctuary.  If you would like to attend in person, please watch your email for instructions to register and attend.  For those unable to come in person, we will be uniting online for prayer.

 

In addition to texting in your prayer requests and praise reports to 908-325-5163. As part of our prayer service, we have an interactive prayer experience via Zoom where we pray and connect with others immediately following the prayer service.  For the interactive experience, please go to: https://www.evangelchurch.com/prayerroom.

Q:  Is there any way to attend Sunday service if I cannot stream online or come to the outdoor service?

Q:  Is Spanish translation available for any of the services?

Prayer Requests & Praise Reports

Q: How can I submit a prayer request or a praise report of what the Lord has done?

A: We are committed to praying now more than ever.  We pray until something happens.  The best way to submit a prayer request or praise report is to text it to 908-325-5163.

General

 

Q: Will the church office be open during this season?

A: At the recommendation of government officials and for the safety of our staff, we have instituted a work from home policy.  We will be monitoring email and other forms of electronic communication, as well as phone messages as we are able.  In addition, you may call the church office at 908-322-9300 to speak with the receptionist Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm.

 

 

Q: What is Evangel doing to protect the staff and volunteers of Evangel who are involved in online and in-person services, facility maintenance and Boxes of Hope?

A:  We highly value the staff and volunteers of Evangel and we are so thankful for each and every one of you!  We are taking precautions and following government recommendations regarding meeting sizes, social distancing, PPE, etc.  We have also implemented a work from home policy to minimize physical interactions.

 

Boxes of Hope

Q: How can I help with Boxes of Hope if I live in central NJ?

A: There are two primary ways to help:

First - You can pray for those impacted by COVID-19, that they would receive the hope they need during this season.

Second - You can help by donating funds.  Click here to give and select Kingdom Builders on the menu.

Q: How can I learn more about Boxes of Hope if I live outside of central NJ?

A:  There are over 60 partner churches in 20 states that have already joined the Boxes of Hope initiative and more coming aboard all the time.  Visit www.getboxesofhope.com to find out where there is a Boxes of Hope partner near you, or if your church wants to find out how to partner in spreading hope.

Giving Questions

Q: How can I give my tithe and offering to the Lord’s work at Evangel during this season?

A: There are three ways to give:

 

1. If you are attending the outdoor services, there is a designated receptacle in which you can give. 

 

2. You may give online at https://www.evangelchurch.com/give or http://pushpay.com/fsp/evangelchurch.

 

3. You may also mail checks made payable to Evangel Church to the church at 1251 Terrill Rd, Scotch Plains, NJ  07076.

 

 

LifeGroups

Q: Will my LifeGroup be meeting this week?

A: LifeGroups are meeting online and in person, depending on the group.  In fact, some groups have found creative ways to meet both online and in person depending on the comfort level of each group member.

A:  We would recommend the following:

  • Follow the recommendations of our local, state and federal leaders.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or sleeve.

  • Wash your hands regularly with soap for at least 20 seconds.

  • Avoid touching your face.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
