REFLECTING ON THE SERMON
Did Pastor Chris say anything that spoke to you during the sermon?

What did you learn about peace that you previously did not know?
GOING DEEPER IN THE SCRIPTURE
Read Matthew 6::25-34
Jesus begins talking about the material things that would have captured the minds of an agrarian culture living in the 1st century (food and clothing).
What are the things that tend to capture your cares and worries? What is Jesus’ solution for this worry?
How do you practically seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness?
Read Philippians 4:4-9
Paul says that the Christian life must be marked by prayer, and from that prayer life peace will flow.
What does God say peace will do in this passage? How have you seen that happen in your life through prayer?
Paul encourages the believers to maintain a focus on Christ and things above (also Col 3:2).
What are some of the ways you practice reflecting on these things?
MAKE IT PERSONAL
How do people tend to define peace? How does the Bible define peace?
Has there been a time when the peace of God guarded your heart?
LIVE IT OUT! ACT IT OUT!
Too often we open up the gate to worry and are overcome by the cares of the world. We get focused on “earthly things” when we are called to reflect on heavenly things. This week focus on closing the gate to the things of the world, and open yourself up to things of God. What are some of the things you are going to unplug from?
Take time to share prayer requests with one another pray for your needs.
