Meet the Pastors
Pastor Chris Morante
Senior Pastor at Evangel Church Scotch Plains
Pastor Chris first came to Evangel Church in 2007 to begin a young adult ministry called The Well. He married his wife, Mandy in 2008, and together they built a thriving ministry. God was at work preparing them for an even greater role, and on May 30, 2013, Pastor Chris was voted in as senior pastor. From the outset, the vision of being one church in multiple locations burned in their hearts, and they are thrilled to see God bringing it to fruition. Pastor Chris & Mandy have two amazing children, Lily and Josiah, and live in Middlesex County.
Pastor Leslie Samuel
Location Pastor at Evangel Church Woodbridge
In 2008, Pastor Leslie Samuel joined the staff of what was then Metro Park Church, as an associate pastor. In 2012, he took on the role of Interim Pastor, and later that same year, became the Senior Pastor. He and his wife, Praisy led this vibrant, outreach-minded church, thus building strong relationships within the local municipality. After a providential introduction and sharing of like-minded vision, Pastor Les, Pastor Chris, and both church’s deacon boards entered into talks of becoming one church in two locations. The vision became a reality when the two churches merged into one in the Spring of 2019. As Location Pastor at what is now Evangel Woodbridge, Pastor Les champions the vision of Changed Lives, Changing Communities in the Woodbridge area. He and his wife Praisy have two beautiful children, Anjali and Jude, and make their home in Edison, NJ.
